We welcome Rev. Ken MacDonald to Hillcrest United Church

I am pleased to be with Hillcrest United as part-time retired supply during this time of many changes; beginning Sept. 1, 2024. I retired six years ago after 43 years of service in the church and have continued to work ever since.

I served longer-term called positions in Manitoba, and 11 years in Orillia. Over half of my career I have felt called to intentional interim ministry, helping congregations through changes. I have served in the Halton area at Westminster Mississauga, Appleby Burlington, St. Paul's in Milton, First Port Credit, and Erindale; so, have some acquaintance with this area; and also worked for 3 years on Toronto Conference staff in Personnel and Congregational Support.

Brampton is my home. My wife Margaret is a newly retired minister. We share 5 adult children and 9 grandchildren. My passions include travel, minor home repairs, exercise, work; and in the past adult training and curling.

I look forward to getting to know you and responding to the pastoral care needs of the congregation. In my worship services I try to focus on a variety of spiritual needs, do some teaching, and have been known to have a sense of humour.

Please be in touch at any time for a conversation.

Blessings. Ken.
